Fantasy Music Overhaul Skyrim Download: Add More Variety and Atmosphere to Your Game

The newest version 1.8 of the Fantasy Music Overhaul for Skyrim combines all songs from the Fantasy Music Overhaul with the songs from the Additional Music Project / Dawn of Hope Music Addon & Skyrim Soundtrack Expansion into one big music pack. 175+ new orchestral & symphonic fantasy music tracks by serveral artists from all over the web.

I've corrected every music pieces to the original music volume, so this will work perfect together with the original score and the music will not be too loud, so you can hear everything else. I only selcted music pieces which really fit to the game and which you can call "fantasy music". Especially the music from the Additional Music Project / Dawn of Hope Music Addon & Skyrim Soundtrack Expansion fits into the game as well as the original score.

This mod should be compatible with every mod, except music overhauls and mods which will edit the music lists. If there should be in spite of everything issues or incompatibilities, just write it down in the comments section and i will have a look at it.

Before posting some issues (especially with combat music) i want to make clear that Fantasy Music Overhaul is working perfect on a clean install of skyrim. As more mods you use as more issues can be with FMO or other mods.

Do not upload any part of this mod without my permission. You can download and convert the music for yourself, but do not use the converted files into the ZIP-archive for your own mods/projects without my permission.

Includes 7 hours of original music (98 music tracks + palette music and soundfx). Features a generally darker sound that doesn't stray to far from vanilla. This is not just a random compilation of music, but a new (personal) take on the music of skyrim, meaning every track was specificially written for this mod.

The Skyrim modding community has come up with a ton of excellent audio and music mods players can install for unparalleled audio immersion, and that goes a long way towards providing a better sense of immersion and fantasy. This goes double for players who are sick and tired of hearing the same Skyrim soundtrack over and over for years on end.

What this means in practice is that lots of people wanting to upgrade their music went off downloading random files and (in many cases) executables to get their "This music is considerably better but why is my PC on fire" fix.

There are now a number of other mods that have been bashed into shape with a view to "fixing" the music - however, the problem with modding is it often encourages end-users to download and run whatever they can get their hands on.

It seems the official word from Square Enix is they're going to upgrade the soundfiles sometime soon so my advice would be to stop downloading random files and hoping for the best. Continue to enjoy your game whether rolling with the old MIDI tracks or the upcoming reworked music and please be careful what you're downloading.

This graphical overhaul is a 9.3GB beast of a download that gives you better, crisper, more detailed models and textures. Rocks, trees, crates, roofs, walls, waterfalls, furs, and floors have all been overhauled with increased resolutions and brightness. The video above gives some great transition examples so you can see the difference yourself.
